Cabras Marine Corporation (CMC) and Seabridge, Inc celebrated the christening of newly acquired assets M/T Hurao, M/T Endurance, and M/T Endeavor on May 4th, 2021. CMC and SBI’s business associates and island dignitaries were in attendance as CMC Owner and Chairwoman Teresa M. Watkins, CMC President Joseph Cruz, Guam’s Maga’håga (Governor) Lourdes Leon Guerrero, and Black Construction Corporation Senior Vice President and General Manager Leonard Kaae did the honor of christening the company’s latest marine assets. Special thanks goes out to Father Richard Kidd for officially blessing these three tugs for their ongoing operations in the Micronesia region.
The vessels were acquired to improve performance capabilities in support of CMC’s commercial and military marine operations in Apra Harbor and SBI’s ocean charters. Sister tugs, M/T HURAO and M/T ENDURANCE were built in 2002 with z-drive propulsion and max bollard pull of 54 tons. The M/T ENDEAVOR, the latest addition to our ocean-going tug fleet, has 4300HP, a max bollard pull of 54 tons with double drum tow winch capability and proven experience spending long days at sea.
The acquisition of these U.S. Flagged vessels prove CMC. and SBI’s commitment in investing in the future of the maritime industry in the Micronesia region by providing reliable, on demand services. It is paramount to ensure efficient operations for a steady flow of marine traffic through Apra Harbor and increased capacity for transshipment throughout the region.
