Seabridge, Inc. (SBI) was fortunate to have the opportunity to attend the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Guam Industry Forum held on November 14-15, 2022 at the Dusit Thani Guam Resort. The forum was well attended with various contractors attending from all over the region and numerous local presenters showcasing capabilities on Guam. The development of military and strategic facilities in the Indo-Pacific Region is continuing. Indo-Pacific Commander, Admiral John C. Aquilino, stated before the House Armed Services Committee on March 9, 2022 that over $11 billion in new military and commercial construction, maintenance and service contracts will be let over the next 5 years on Guam and the Indo-Pacific Region. Guam and the Marianas as well as other Micronesian islands are experiencing the largest U.S. defense design, construction, supply, and service initiatives in recent history.
SBI General Manager, Gary Iribarren, had the opportunity to join the Ports of Entry and Logistics panel discussion held on Day 2 of the forum. Logistics is a key component to successful execution of projects on Guam due to the island’s strategic location in the Pacific. Mr. Iribarren discussed SBI’s capabilities as a maritime service solutions provider focused in Guam and the greater Micronesia region. Mr. Iribarren further briefed the audience of SBI’s versatile fleet that can deliver maximum value to clients as SBI ships multiple cargo types in single or multiple voyages on an on-demand basis: breakbulk, containers / refrigerated containers, roll-on roll-off / vehicles; heavy equipment, ISO-containers for liquid cargo, and palletized cargo.
SBI would like to thank the Guam Post of SAME for hosting and organizing a valuable event bringing construction contractors, architects, engineers, suppliers and service providers from the U.S. and Guam together to discuss and explore how collaboration will be achieved for upcoming projects in Guam.
