Cabras Marine Corporation (CMC), in partnership with the Guam Community College (GCC), successfully launched the fifth Ship Repair Transportation Boot Camp on May 31, 2022 with 15 candidates taking on the 12-week program with a focus in the following trades: Marine Mechanic, Shipwright Carpentry and Electrical. Additional courses included Industrial Safety, OSHA 10, Work Ethics, and 1st Aid & CPR. Trade theory instruction will be held at GCC while lab work will take place at CMC’s PACDIM facility providing candidates real world learning experiences within the ship repair industry. Just as the previous four installments of the boot camp program, upon successful completion, candidates will be offered full-time employment with CMC as an Apprentice hire for the trades studied above.
CMC wishes the best of luck to the 15 candidates taking on the 12-week boot camp and will closely monitor their progress to support these individuals in any way possible. CMC is excited to see what is to come within this batch of motivated individuals.
