Proficiency in Survival Craft Training Course

Cabras Marine Corporation (CMC) is pleased to announce the launch of the first Proficiency in Survival Craft training course held at our Maritime Training Facility. CMC currently has four of our dedicated mariners attending the course to further develop their skills and experience utilizing a brand new, state-of-the-art boat davit to simulate real-life scenarios. Being dedicated in providing upward mobility for our personnel, CMC believes this course is an invaluable resource for its mariners. Upon completion of this course our personnel will be able to take charge of the preparation, embarkation, launching, and recovery of survival craft and be able to manage a boat under oars, or motor and take charge of an inflatable life raft. The presentation will include but not be limited to: Survival Methods, Inflatable Liferafts, Lifeboats, Survival Equipment, Launching and Recovery of Life Boats, and Shipboard Davit Systems.

CMC would like to extend its appreciation to course instructor, Mr. Chad Kiser, for sharing his wealth of knowledge in the maritime training industry to our personnel. Mr. Kiser is a former Deck Instructor at the Mid-Atlantic Maritime Academy and has served as a Boatswain Mate / Command Chief for the U.S. Coast Guard.

Additional recent training courses held at our Maritime Training Facility include:
1. Able-bodied Seaman – 6 personnel completed.
2. 200-Ton Master – 3 personnel completed.
