Cabras Marine Corporation (CMC) was fortunate to attend the Governor of Guam’s Islandwide Job Fair this past Friday and was impressed at the outcome of attendees. The islandwide job fair, hosted by the Guam Department of Labor and the Office of the Governor, connected close to 90 employers with more than 2,000 job seekers. The Honorable Governor Lou Leon Guerrero, who was also in attendance at the job fair that was touted as the largest in 15 years, had said the government wants to support people returning to work who are, in turn, supporting their families, their community and the economy.
CMC has been committed to Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands since 1975 and is currently focused on revitalizing ship repair as a core industry on Guam while also providing opportunities in educating and developing the local workforce. CMC welcomed potential candidates to take advantage of this opportunity to see how their current skill sets may fit within the company and what opportunities for higher-level training might be available. GENERAL CRAFTSMAN PROGRAM: Entry level position with a high potential in promoting towards a permanent position under the Apprentice Program. Job assignments may vary daily assisting various departments. Applicants must be able to perform physical tasks such as cleaning, removing debris, loading and unloading materials, assembling and disassembling temporary structures and assisting skilled craftspeople with their duties. Applicant should be able to perform a variety of duties involving various tools, lifting, carrying and managing equipment and machinery to provide support and aid to the skilled craftspeople on-site. Immediate training opportunities available upon hire.
