Tugs Endurance, Hurao, Agility, and Matua (not pictured) patiently wait for our Chief Pilot, Captain Edgar Jabinigay to give direction and tug positions as he prepares all 4 Tractor Tugs to execute the safe docking of the USS Theodore Roosevelt. Captain Edgar, with the assist of his 4 Tug Masters, Captains Dante, Niel, Colin, and Romy successfully brought the strike group into Guam’s port.
Their presence brings over 6,000 service members to our island offering their crew the ability to partake in the beauty of our tropical paradise while also providing a boost to Guam’s economy. The vessel was greeted by distinguished leaders from the Government of Guam and Naval Base Guam. Guam’s Lieutenant Governor, Honorable Joshua Tenorio, had the privilege of staying overnight onboard the Roosevelt and shared with media the importance of Guam’s partnership with the Department of Defense.
In addition to executing the docking of the USS Roosevelt and her accompanying fleet, Cabras Marine also provided a total of 22 certified line handlers to receive the large vessel under our PACSEA Team who assist with shore-based operations at Naval Base Guam’s Port Operations Annex.

As part of the Strike Group’s visit to the Marianas, our Saipan Marine Team safely docked the USS Hopper (DDG 70), guided missile destroyer, in Saipan’s Port the day prior. Led by Pilot Rudy Carriaga, Captain Rudy executed the safe docking with Tug Masters Jason and Jervy onboard Tugs Chamorro and Endeavor. This was the first time the USS Hopper visited Saipan and her presence was of significant importance to Saipan’s leadership as it signifies the relationship with the US military that CNMI’s Governor, Honorable Arnold Palacios, intends to strengthen and prioritize as part of CNMI’s commitment to be an active ally in the US Pacific Deterrence Initiative (PDI).
We warmly welcome the US service members to our beautiful islands, both Guam and Saipan, and hope they enjoy their time here!
